Panda bears are seriously endangered. Each panda baby born is something akin to a miracle and a true blessing for the conservation of the species. Panda bears start small. Extremely small. At birth they weigh just around 100 grams. That’s as much as a bar of chocolate or a small yogurt. Apart from the kangaroos, no other mammal gives birth to such small babies. After four weeks, the cubs have their typical black and white fur, after 6-8 weeks, they open their eyes for the first time. They remain with their mother for about two years and are very playful. Their mother likes to roll them back and forth gently and lovingly grapples around with them.

Fun fact: Panda love to do somersaults.

Schleich products are made of various plastics and dyes, which are carefully selected to meet the respective requirements. Most typically plastics used are polyvinyl chloride (PVC), thermoplastic elastomers (TPE) and acrylonitrile butadiene styrene (ABS), in addition to other plastics typical for toys. Even the material suppliers are subject to strict controls by our quality officers. The dyes used are optimally adapted to the different types of plastic and demonstrate top-rate mechanical and chemical resistance. They ensure the high durability of Schleich products and make all Schleich pieces saliva and sweat proof as well as abrasion-resistant, and thus ensure that they are completely safe for playing with. Only once a product meets fully all international laws, standards and guidelines for toys is it released for production. All Schleich articles and materials comply with the national and international toy requirements applicable worldwide, as well as the new European Toy Safety Directive 2009/48/EC and DIN EN 71.

We love Schleich’s realistic animal figures, a quality toy that stimulates the child’s imagination as well as teaching them about animals and wildlife.
